“You know you”re getting old when you go to bed perfectly healthy and you wake up injured!”
Brian Powers brings a unique perspective to the field of stand-up comedy; he has become one of the most sought after stand-up comedians in the New England area. Brian is widely recognized as a clean comic whose act illuminates the laughter inherent to growing old, raising kids and being married for many years.
As The Boston Herald states, “…Brian Powers regaled the audience with tales about a blue collar guy adjusting to mid-life, middle-class suburbia…”
The Boston Globe writes that, “…the audience was coaxed into chortles …as Brian Powers takes a blue-collar-ish look at life’s myriad confusions… and possesses uncanny timing…” and The Patriot Ledger adds, “…his tales sparked howling recognition from the crowd…”
Since beginning his stand-up career with the Comedy Connection and Ding Ho comedy clubs in Boston, Brian has appeared in such nationally known clubs as The Improvisation in Los Angeles, The Punchline in Atlanta, The Other Café in San Francisco, Yuk-Yuks in Toronto, and Catch a Rising Star in NYC. He has also made numerous television appearances (such as on the A&E, Comedy Central and Showtime networks) and is regularly featured on radio stations throughout the areas (such as WBCN, WZOU, WZLX, WBUR, WXKS, and WBZ).
In 2011 Brian teamed up with Harmon-Marino LIVE and launched his hysterical one man show The Raging Parent, currently touring resorts, comedy festivals and fundraisers (see our theme show section)
